Have you Ever had Solo Traveling?

Well, to me solo traveling is awesome. Why? because it is good, hahah this is so really fantastic to be alone and travel wherever I want. I've been some places in Cambodia in Koh Kong,  Mondulkiri, Siem Reap, Sihanouk Vile and other  provinces.

On March 2016, I remembered I was in Koh Kong (actually that time I had a mission to be there for 4 days for the teacher training and I was an interpreter). After my mission completed, I decided to take one more day there for my personal trip to Koh Kong Krao island or Koh Kong white sand beach and this island is so beautiful but not so many people go there as it is not well-known island, however mostly international tourists go there.  This is so great. Yeah, on Friday evening I walked along the sea-bank and I saw a ticket-desk with beautiful island picture which is called Koh Kong Krao island, it is about 2.5 hours traveling. Yet, I was reluctance to go there alone, I passed that place and kept going to see the view in Koh Kong town. While walking, I think myself that I have never experienced somewhere alone, than  okay, I decided to  spend 13$ for two ways ticket with free lunch, kayaking and others.

Koh Kong Krao Island, Koh Kong Province
The ferry leaves at 8:00 am. I got up at 7 am , took my breakfast and then  arrived at the ferry at 7:50 am with only one Cambodian, this was only Me and actually two Cambodian including ferry driver, heheh I was not Cambodian alone, the rest were 4-5 foreigners. Sitting on ferry, listening to the sea wave , passing the mangrove forests and mountains with vast sea and birds catching sea fishes, I felt like in the nowhere out of the world. 2.5 hours passed, I arrived Koh Kong Krao island I saw an old man and one lady who work there come to get us to their resort. Wahh, I was asked a question "Do you come here with your girlfriend?" Ahh , brother ! I am here alone, no girlfriend ( I smiled and laughed alone). A man said "Ohh, I thought you come with your girlfriend and I've never seen any Cambodian  come here alone, okay enjoy your trip here brother". haha I said, "Okay brother , thank for your hospitality, this island is so beautiful".

There, I met an old man, foreign tourist ( I forgot where he comes from) who used to work in Cambodia during the 90s with UN agency. we got to know and chit-chatted about everything and had fun together for like 20 minutes. Then I went to see the view around, it has natural water coming from the mountain , it is very good water and I love it so much. After that I had lunch there (free lunch but I have to pay for the drink), took 1 hour for lunch and slept in the hammock then  went to swim alone. Well, I can see this was the first time for me to the isolated island, anyway I think it was so Awesome for my solo traveling.

My second solo traveling was on 30 March 2016 in Mondulkiri province, I was there in Senmonorom town, rented a motorbike only 5 $ per day. I got a map from motorbike owner and  was recommended to go to Bousra waterfall (Bousra waterfall is located in Pich Chenda district about 43 kilometers northeast of Monulkiri provincial town, Sen Monorom) . Ohh, yeah I took 1 hour traveling by motor to go there from 8 am to 9 am. I felt so nervous without anyone, it was a bit hot a long the way just kept going and actually the road was being reconstructed, I got lots of dusts on my body until I arrived waterfall. I stepped  in the Bousra area, I felt so happy to see things there, I walked down alone to see waterfall.

At the third stage of Bousra waterfall
Ohh yeah, finally I could see the beautiful waterfall where many people appreciate this place. Wow so fresh! I took a selfie then, heheh so fall in love with the views. I walked around and went to the third stage where normally people could hardly be there because it is in the thick forest and there are no marked paths and dangerous wildlife inhabits that area  ( actually there are three stages of waterfall).  That time, water was low as it was in dry season. Not so many people were there since it was not the holiday.

Time to go back to the town at 3:30 pm. While I was driving along the way, I lost my bike's key, luckily the bike still working and I was afraid of the bike could not bring me back to the town. Yeah yeah I got back the town safe and sound anyway.

Bunkbed in the hostel
Another solo traveling was in Siem Reap province on 14 January 2017. What I liked to taste the new experience was staying at the hostel nearby the night market and pub street. I looked for some guesthouse with cheap price but I found one was hostel which has 4 bunkbeds in one room for 6$ per night where I have to stay with people from different cultures. I got into the room, I met two new roommates one man and one lady and got some beers at pub street.

Next day morning, I rented a bicycle just only 2 $ per day to travel to Angkor Wat temple in order to see the sun rise. I got up at 5 am and

Sun rises over the temple
started cycling to Angkor Wat at 5:30 am.  5:30 am was still dark, I could not see the way clearly. I took 30 mn for cycling to there, ohh wow! I arrived there at 6:00 am, and finally I can watch the sun rise over the temple  which I could see the natural beauty of the temple.

Sun rise gone, I walked around the temple to discover the complex built for the king Suyavarman II in the early of 12th century. I spent almost 4 hours in the temple for discovering this.

At 11 am , I traveled to other  4 temples in Siem Reap, Banteay Kdei, Banteay Chhmar, Taprom and Bakheng just only one day with my bicycle. Well, this was amazing but a bit tired too haha and I came back to the city at 6 pm.

Okay, these are my experiences for my solo traveling. It is so awesome, I have freedom to do anything for what I want, I do not need to wait the others, I can manage my time, I can have my own decision making. You want experience that? Let's give a try , you will know how awesome it is! Come on !!!
